Hello to all of you! It’s already August, everything is green. The weather is good, it’s very hot out there. Oh, and I’m lazy, so lazy. Many people can understand what I’m talking about. Fatigue as a consequence of the heat is something usual when you have MS. It takes me only 5 degrees (it’s about plus 30) to start being like in a fog. .
You’ll find another base exercise machine from my collection below. This type is called (if I remember correctly) a multi gym. I bought it a long time ago - about 6 years ago. It worked pretty well. It’s not for heavy weights, it’s mostly for pumping as they say. This means you will lift light and medium weights with a great number of repetitions. I was quite satisfied with this particular equipment But of course there are some disadvantages such as a weight limit and a necessity of oiling to reduce frictions.
There is also one drawback of such machines - it consumes a lot of space in a room because of its enormous size.
As you may guess, the main purpose of purchasing such a thing is to build muscles of arms, shoulders, back and legs. And I had been working out hard, not so long ago. But now I do it not so much and still I consider it very necessary. .
You have to buy weights for this machine separately, that’s why they are called free weights. The mount sockets for the disks are distinguished by different diameters, you should specify which one you need. The total weight of my disks are about 120 kg. And I think I don’t need more because I’m not into professional powerlifting, I’m just trying to fix my health issues.
After doing exercises for a short time on a weight machine, I experience the same feelings as after stretching. Strength growth, steadier moves, a better muscle tone and balance. The influence is positive.
If I work out not in a full mode, do a lot of repetitions or lift heavier weights, I begin to feel demyelination more distinctively. Exhaustion, headaches, fatigue, slow reaction and moves is a small part from the list of consequences that I feel.
I should forget about big weights taking into consideration my health condition and 20-year-old illness. It would look the same as to hang dumbbells on your ears hoping that it would build out your ear muscle. Sheer insanity.
All in all, I’m glad to have this machine. And I have no regrets about any of them. I regret not buying it earlier. Due to my low immobility, it happened what should have happened – increase of my disability at the age of 16. I also regret being shy and skipping P.E. lessons at school and sports clubs. I believe If I had been even a little bit smarter, I would have been able to avoid having severe paraparesis.
But it’s ok, we will see who will laugh the last. .
